Tribal Tattoo

I got my tattoo when i was 17 and the artist said it would take 20 mins, i think he was worried i would faint during the session so he rushed through it, and it only took him 10 mins.

That was 8 years ago and it has scared me off even getting it filled in, the tattoo is patchy, and the outlines are wobbly, to be honest its an absolute mess!

The whole tattoo needs re done and i'm considering a whole new redesign but i'm worried that it just wont look right, i don't want anything much bigger.
