Japanese Inspired Tattoo

My first ink. This one started off as a geisha riding a koi upstream but ended up with the Kannon (Goddess of compassion) riding the Koi downstream but with the fauna replicating the koi as it should flow downstream.

Pics aren't the best but would appreciate any advice on suggestions for a chest piece to fit the flow. Was after a Phoenix but don't think it will fit the space. Wifey says that a Hanya is out of the question so any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Will be in Hong Kong and Beijing soon and am looking at getting something done there but will be in Japan in December. Don't know whether to hold off till Japan although I'm keen for a chest piece asap, cant believe how addictive this shit is....
