Jaguar Tattoo in a Yin Yang Design

I dreamed about this design and then my tattoo Artist Aesha drew it up for me and did it.
It is a kind of yin - yang design, and the bottom jaguar is darker than the top one. Eventually it will be even darker, as I get it touched up.

I'm 55 years old and this is my most elaborate tattoo. I have several others and I love them all. To me, tattoos are a way of not being able to hide who you really are.

They can be a constant reminder of something or someone that you have chosen to remember. They can be sacred marks and mine are, for me.

I work with a lot of indigenous people from around the world. I am the guardian of an ancient crystal skull and I travel to share it with interested people. Doing that job has changed my life, opened my mind - and changed my attitude about many things, including tattoos.

I'm happy to see that there is no 'typical' person who is getting a tattoo these days. Grandmothers and teens, mothers and daughters can all enjoy this ancient tradition.

It is inspiring for me to see an 89 year old native woman getting her chin tattoos, carrying on her Culture's traditions, proudly.
