Hawaiian Butterfly Tattoo Design
This Is My Second Tattoo...I got it done back around Thanksgiving of 2007. The design is significant to me for several reasons. My Mom and I are extremely close and I got this tattoo so I an always carry a piece of her with me.
Kahali is my name (Shari) in Hawaiian
Keleka is her name (Theresa) in Hawaiian
The Butterfly symbolizes Freedom, Beauty and Strength. Which represents both of our natures. Its located on my right shoulder and she also has my name with roses on her right shoulder. I chose Hawaiian not only because it is a beautiful language and Hawaii was were I was born.
Like I said previously, I got this tattoo so I can always have her with me. She's still alive now but we found out about a year ago that she has breast cancer..She's in remission now...But you never know with cancer. That is the main reason I chose to get her name with mine...
I got this tattoo done at Guilt By Association In Denver, Colorado. It Took About 3 Hours To Do...But, It wasn't too bad. I Got To Watch "V For Vendetta" The Entire Time...Plus my artist was very cool and kept me preoccupied by talking to me and telling me stories...LOL.
No Real Pain...the outlining hurt the most, but only on the bone. I love my tattoo and am ecstatic to get my next one!! =)
