Crop Circles as TattoosStrange Geometric Patterns Spotted on BodiesCrop circles have been reported en masse since the mid seventies but there are records of them appearing as early as 1966 in Australia (the famous Tulley UFO Nests incident) and even earlier according to anecdotal evidence. They have been reported in many countries worldwide in the past couple of decades. There is absolutely no doubt about the lasting impression they have made on popular culture. It is hardly surprising then that they would have made an appearance in tattoo culture and tattoo art.Irregardless of whether you think crop circles are a hoax or not there is no denying the intricacy and complexity of their designs. They have left a deep impression on thousands of people worldwide and have challenged some people to look beyond their mundane lives and face the fact that there is so much more beyond three dimensional appearances. Irrespective of the origin or crop circles, they have acted as a catalyst for many to re-examine their earthbound existence and seek a deeper meaning to their lives.  Crop circles make great tattoos © Tao of Tattoos Personally I don't think a group of hoaxers would have the intelligence to create such complex patterns in such a short space of time and over huge areas and different countries, states and counties on the same night. It would require too much organization and eventually they would leave clues or get caught in the act. Although crop circles appear to be just fancy geometric patterns at first glance when they are studied more closely they appear to contain formulas for highly advanced technology. Nikola Tesla the genius inventor, physicist, mechanical engineer and electrical engineer was credited with a huge amount of highly advanced technologies such as robotics, remote control, the expansion of ballistics, nuclear physics, theoretical physics and advanced space crafts. His systems of magnetic transmission (top) has an uncanny similarity to modern crop circles (below) which would lead some to ask the question if these are some kind of blueprints being encoded in the fields. They give the example of ancient symbols which are deeply embedded in our collective unconsciousness which act as mental triggers. There is no denying the power of certain symbols to make people react, often quite violently in some cases. Try wearing a Nazi t-shirt at a Jewish festival and see what happens! We have become so used to looking at everyday symbols that we often forget that our reactions are mostly unconscious but reactions nevertheless. Perhaps these crop circle images have the ability to activate our cosmic awareness. There are certainly plenty of people out there who believe that certain images contain a resonance that can raise human awareness and facilitate in the evolution of humanity. In many ways crop circle patterns resemble a lot of tribal style tattoo designs. In that way they are quite versatile and can look as good on guys as well as girls. I really like reverse style tattoos done in heavy black work using UV ink for added effect.
