Amy Grenade Revealed Tattoo Girl Reveals Mans Ruin! The revival of interest in burlesque has taken off in the last year or two, but its origins go back much further. Burlesque outfit 'Women of Fear' was formed by Amy Grenade and Pinky 500 in 2003.The current boom in old school burlesque performance is a reaction against the sterile pole dancing scene. Burlesque was tradionally an inexpensive form of entertainment sometimes known as the 'poor man's follies'.
Originally the girls wore one piece union suits and then later began to develop more elaborate costumes with the popularity of Broadway review. The costumes became flashier and included increasing amounts of nudity. It was around this time that the actual strip tease was born. The resurgence of Burlesque has gained momentum giving birth once again to a thriving industry that died a victim of economics and the desensitization of an era with bad taste. The Burlesque circuits, most Burlesque theatres and touring Carnival Girl shows were replaced by the local Strip bar. By the mid 1980's; full nudity, spandex, pole and lap dancing where in full effect and remain a steadfast fixture in today's culture. Amy Grenade is originally from San Antonio, Texas, has lived in Colorado since 1998. Past achievements include: US Army Veteran serving 4/8 years, stationed in Europe, Ft. Bragg, and Hungary for the Bosnian Operation. After her move to Colorado, she spent 6 years in the corporate world as an Executive Assistant. Now, she is a full time ass kicker, bus driver hauling everyone's bad ass around, and Marketing Director at Rock Island Club located in downtown Denver. She is also heavily tattooed.
Amy Grenade's tattoos depict Heaven and Hell, or Good and Evil, and the balance between the two. The cross in flames is surrounded by angels and demons (which you can't see here). Both the left and right arms have their heaven side and demon side sleeves. I do have angel wings on my back and a demon tail which wraps around my leg. The quote around my neck says: It's based off a Johnny Cash quote on life's lessons which I felt went with my own, and my tattoo theme. The majority of Amy's tattoos were done my Mr. Scary at That Scary Place in Denver, Colorado. Pinky 500 the other half of the equation describes herself as a broken dolly, a lover, a hater, a vegetarian, a misanthrope, a bitch, a friend, a sister, a daughter, an enemy, and as you can tell... a walking contradiction. I can't stand to be touched by strangers, assume what you will because it will be true to you in the end anyway.
